Vijay Samuel Hazare (* 11. März 1915 in Sangli, Maharashtra; † 18. Dezember 2004 in Vadodara, Gujarat) war ein indischer Cricketspieler.

Er war der erste Inder, der Kapitän der Nationalmannschaft war, und er führte Indien in Madras 1951/52 zum ersten Sieg im Test Cricket gegen England. Dies war der einzige Sieg auf diesem Niveau während seiner Zeit als Kapitän. Der nächste Sieg einer indischen Nationalmannschaft kam erst 23 Jahre später gegen die Westindischen Inseln.

Seine Ausbildung erhielt er an der Presbyterian Mission Industrial School in Sangli, Maharashtra. Von seiner Mutter wurde er sehr streng gläubig erzogen, was dazu führte, dass er das Catholic Gymkhana Cricket Team gründete.

In der ersten indischen Liga spielte Hazare für die Teams aus Maharashtra, Zentralindien und Baroda. In Test-Matches (Länderspielen) betrug sein Schlagdurchschnitt 47,65 pro Match, und er erzielte insgesamt 2.192 runs. Hazare starb 2004 an Krebs.
