Vigra ist eine Insel in der Nähe der Stadt Ålesund an der norwegischen Küste. Sie gehört zur Gemeinde Giske in der Provinz (Fylke) Møre og Romsdal. Auf der Insel befindet sich der lokale Flughafen von Ålesund.

Sonstiges

Vigra ist auch Standort eines Rundfunksenders für Mittelwelle, der auch in Deutschland empfangen werden kann. Als Sendeantenne wird ein gegen Erde isolierter abgespannter Stahlrohrmast mit einer kreuzförmigen Dachkapazität verwendet. Der Sender wurde 1935 als Langwellensender in Betrieb genommen und 1940 durch einen Bombenangriff zerstört. Nach zwei provisorischen Sendern wurde am 12. April 1948 ein 100-kW-Sender auf 629 kHz in Betrieb genommen, noch heute wird mit 100 kW auf 630 kHz gesendet.
