Basseterre (französisch für „Unteres Land“) ist die Hauptstadt der Inselföderation St. Kitts und Nevis auf den Kleinen Antillen. Sie liegt an der Südküste der Insel St. Kitts.

Basseterre

Die Bevölkerung von Basseterre macht mit knapp 20.000 Einwohnern fast die Hälfte des gesamten Staates aus. In dieser Stadt finden sich das Handelszentrum, der Flughafen und einige Zuckerraffinerien.

Der Fußballverein Garden Hotspurs FC stammt aus der Stadt.
