Die Universität Leicester (englisch University of Leicester) ist eine Universität in Leicester [ˈlɛstə], England. Sie wurde 1921 gegründet, gilt heute als Forschungsuniversität und gliedert sich in fünf Fakultäten.

Die Universität hat 2010 insgesamt 23.000 Studenten. Rund 6.000 davon nutzen die Universität als Fernuniversität; die zweitgrößte Zahl in England, nach der Open University.

Eine der bekanntesten Entdeckungen der University of Leicester ist die DNA-Analyse, welche 1984 von Sir Alec Jeffreys entwickelt wurde.
