Union Move 1998

Union Move war eine von 1995 bis 2001 jährlich durchgeführte Technoparade in München. Sie war eine Initiative der Münchner Veranstalter gegen Drogenmissbrauch (Kunstpark Ost, P1, Ultraschall (Club), Partysan und Pulverturm), um gegen die Münchener Sperrzeit und die unverhältnismässige Kontrolle durch die Polizei zu demonstrieren. Der Union Move war zuletzt wegen zu strenger Ordnungskräfte bei den Besuchern sehr unbeliebt und wurde 2001 zum letzten Mal durchgeführt. Im Jahr 1997 hatte die Veranstaltung 100.000 Besucher, im folgenden Jahr nur noch 60.000.[1] Die Besucherzahl erholte sich zum Jahr 2000 mit 70.000 wieder ein wenig, brach aber im folgenden Jahr mit 19.000 (Polizeischätzung) bzw. 30.000 (Angabe der Veranstalter) endgültig ein, die sich am Pfingstsamstag tummelten. Diese wurden von sieben Lautsprecherwagen aus beschallt, die von Leopold- und Ludwigstraße zum Odeonsplatz zogen, wo eine Abschlusskundgebung stattfand. Das letzte Motto war „Music is the only drug!“.
