Umeshu (梅酒) ist ein japanischer Likör aus der Ume-Aprikose. Diesen trinkt man in Japan kalt oder warm, hauptsächlich im Sommer. Er ist süß oder süß-sauer, und oft liegt am Boden der Flasche noch eine Ume. Er schmeckt sehr mild und wird auch von Menschen konsumiert, die sonst eher keinen Alkohol trinken.

Umeshu wird häufig als „Pflaumenwein“ bezeichnet, obwohl er weder aus Pflaumen besteht (die Ume ist eher mit der Aprikose verwandt), noch wie Wein hergestellt wird. Preiswerte Produkte werden allerdings auf der Grundlage von Weißwein hergestellt („aromatisiertes weinhaltiges Getränk“).
