United States Coast Guard High Endurance Cutter Taney

Der USCGC[1] Taney wurde am 24. Oktober 1936 in Dienst gestellt und war ein großes Küstenwachschiff der Secretary-Klasse. Sie ist nach Roger B. Taney, dem Obersten Richter der Vereinigten Staten (amt. 1836 bis 1864), benannt.

Berühmt ist es, weil es das letzte, schwimmende Schiff ist, das den Angriff auf Pearl Harbor 1941 überstand. Heute ist die Taney ein Museumsschiff in Baltimore (Maryland), nachdem sie am 7. Dezember 1988 außer Dienst gestellt wurde.
