UPOV

Die Union internationale pour la protection des obtentions végétales (UPOV) (deutsch: Internationaler Verband zum Schutz von Pflanzenzüchtungen) ist eine zwischenstaatliche Organisation zum Schutz von Pflanzenzüchtungen. Sie hat ihren Sitz in Genf.

Die UPOV wurde 1961 durch das Internationale Übereinkommen zum Schutz von Pflanzenzüchtungen eingerichtet. Ziel des Übereinkommens ist es, das Recht des geistigen Eigentums so fortzuentwickeln, dass es Pflanzenzüchtungen schützt und damit die Entwicklung neuer Pflanzensorten begünstigt.
