Tissamaharama (Sinhala තිස්සමහාරාමය ˈtissəmaˌhaːˈraːməjə) ist eine Kleinstadt im Südosten Sri Lankas. Es war seit dem 3. Jhd. v.  Hauptstadt des singhalesischen Königreichs Ruhuna. Nur wenige historische Gebäude sind erhalten geblieben; der große künstliche See Tissa Wewa, der Teil eines ausgeklügelten Bewässerungssystems war, stammt aus dieser Zeit. Heute dient die Stadt hauptsächlich als Ausgangspunkt für Besuche des Yala-Nationalparks und der Pilgerstadt Kataragama.
