Tirebolu (früher Tireboli, griechisch: Τρίπολις) ist eine Hafenstadt am Schwarzen Meer in der türkischen Provinz Giresun. Im Jahr 2000 hatte es etwa 17.500 Einwohner.

Geschichte

656 n. Chr. von griechischen Kolonisten aus Milet gegründet, wurde es 1397 von den Osmanen unter Hadschi Emiroglu Süleyman erobert. Im ersten Weltkrieg war es von 1916 bis 1918 von russischen Truppen besetzt.
