The Zawinul Syndicate war eine Band, deren Stil vor allem der am 11. September 2007 verstorbene österreichische Jazzrockmusiker Joe Zawinul geprägt hat. Sie hielt an den Improvisationen des Jazz fest, zeichnete sich aus durch ungewöhnliche Grooves, treibende und swingende Rhythmen und Anleihen aus den unterschiedlichsten Musikkulturen.

In Zawinuls Syndicate haben beispielsweise die Drummer Cornell Rochester, Rodney Holmes, Paco Séry, Mike Baker, Nathaniel Townsley, Karim Ziad, die Perkussionisten Manolo Badrena, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, Aziz Sahmaoui, Jorge Bezerra jr., die Bassisten Gerald Veasley, Matthew Garrison, Richard Bona, Victor Bailey, Linley Marthe, Etienne Mbappe, die Gitarristen Scott Henderson, Randy Bernsen, Gary Poulson, Alegre Corrêa und Amit Chatterjee sowie die Sängerinnen Maria João und Sabine Kabongo musiziert. Das letzte Konzert fand am 3. August 2007 in Güssing statt.
