1962 erfolgte dann die Umbenennung in Gladys Knight & the Pips.

Es folgten weitere Hits, von denen I Heard It Through the Grapevine der erfolgreichste wurde.

1996 erfolgte die Aufnahme von Gladys Knight & the Pips in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
