Die Temple University ist eine Universität in Philadelphia im US-Bundesstaat Pennsylvania. Mit 37.367[1] Studenten gehört sie, zusammen mit der Pennsylvania State University, zu den größten Universitäten in Pennsylvania. Die Hochschule ist autonom, erhält aber staatliche Gelder. Sie wird deshalb als state-related University bezeichnet.

Geschichte

Die Ursprünge der Temple University gehen auf das 1867 gegründete Philadelphia Dental College zurück. Die formelle Gründung der Universität als Temple College erfolgte 1884.
