Die Te Ana-au Caves (inoffiziell auch Aurora) sind ein kulturhistorisch und ökologisch bedeutsames System von Karsthöhlen an der Westküste des Sees Lake Te Anau im Südwesten Neuseelands.

Das Höhlensystem wurde 1948 durch Lawson Burrows entdeckt, der den oberen Eingangsschacht aufgrund von Hinweisen in Legenden der Māori nach dreijähriger Suche fand.[1] Es wurde später eine bedeutende Sehenswürdigkeit der Region, da seenahe Teile der Höhle sogenannte Glowworms (Arachnocampa luminosa, nicht zu verwechseln mit den deutschen Glühwürmchen) beherbergen.

Da die Höhlen in den Murchison Mountains liegen, wo der vom Aussterben bedrohte Südinseltakahe lebt, und die Höhlen selbst sehr empfindlich sind, ist der Zutritt beschränkt.[2] Es finden jedoch täglich kommerzielle Bootstouren durch die wassergefüllten Höhlen statt.
