BALTIC International wurde 1992 von der Latavio-Latvian Airlines und US-amerikanischen Geschäftsleuten gegründet. Im September 1995 fusionierte die Gesellschaft mit Latavio zur airBaltic, die am 1. Oktober 1995 ihren Dienst aufnahm.

Flotte

Die Gesellschaft flog anfangs mit 3 Tupolew Tu-134B. Später kam noch 1 Boeing 727-230 und DC-9-15 dazu.
