Das Talbot County[1] ist ein County im US-amerikanischen Bundesstaat Maryland. Bei der Volkszählung im Jahr 2010 hatte das County 37.782 Einwohner und eine Bevölkerungsdichte von 54,1 Einwohnern pro Quadratkilometer. Der Verwaltungssitz (County Seat) ist Easton.

Die Chesapeake Bay mit dem Talbot County

Das County liegt auf der Delmarva-Halbinsel am östlichen Ufer der Chesapeake Bay und hat eine Fläche von 1.235 Quadratkilometern; davon sind 536 Quadratkilometer (46,4 Prozent) Wasserflächen. Es grenzt an folgende Countys:

Geschichte

Das Talbot County wurde 1661 aus Teilen des Kent County gebildet. Benannt wurde es nach Grace, Lady Talbot,der Schwester von Cæcilius Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore.

Nach der Volkszählung im Jahr 2010 lebten im Talbot County 37.782 Menschen in 16.213 Haushalten. Die Bevölkerungsdichte betrug 54,1 Einwohner pro Quadratkilometer.

Ethnisch betrachtet setzte sich die Bevölkerung zusammen aus 81,4 Prozent Weißen, 12,8 Prozent Afroamerikanern, 0,2 Prozent amerikanischen Ureinwohnern, 1,2 Prozent Asiaten sowie aus anderen ethnischen Gruppen; 1,6 Prozent stammten von zwei oder mehr Ethnien ab. Unabhängig von der ethnischen Zugehörigkeit waren 5,5  Prozent der Bevölkerung spanischer oder lateinamerikanischer Abstammung.

In den 16.213 Haushalten lebten statistisch je 2,20 Personen.

19,7 Prozent der Bevölkerung waren unter 18 Jahre alt, 56,6 Prozent waren zwischen 18 und 64 und 23,7 Prozent waren 65 Jahre oder älter. 52,2 Prozent der Bevölkerung war weiblich.

Das jährliche Durchschnittseinkommen eines Haushalts lag bei 59.633 USD. Das Pro - Kopf - Einkommen betrug 39.294 USD. 8,8 Prozent der Einwohner lebten unterhalb der Armutsgrenze.[6]
