Suffragan

Suffragan (lat.) ist jedes zu Sitz und Stimme (suffragium) berechtigte Mitglied eines Kollegiums von Geistlichen; insbesondere ein Diözesanbischof, der einem Erzbischof, dem Metropoliten, untergeordnet ist. Sein Bistum ist somit ein der Kirchenprovinz untergeordnetes Suffraganbistum.
