Stuart James Taylor (* 28. November 1980 in Romford) ist ein englischer Fußballspieler.

Karriere

Taylor begann seine Karriere 1997 als Ersatzkeeper für den damaligen Stammtorwart David Seaman beim FC Arsenal. Der Torhüter stand von 1997-2005 bei den Londonern unter Vertrag. In dieser Zeit wurde er zu den Bristol Rovers (1999), Crystal Palace (2000), Peterborough United (2001) und Leicester City (2004/05) verliehen. Taylor spielte insgesamt 18 Pflichtspiele für die Mannen vom Highbury Stadium. Nachdem Jens Lehmann und Manuel Almunia 2003 bzw. 2004 bei den Gunners unterschrieben, blieb Taylor keine andere Wahl und den Klub 2005 in Richtung Birmingham zum Aston Villa zu verlassen. Er war dort zweiter Torwart hinter dem Dänen Thomas Sørensen. Taylor spielte 1999 für die englische U-20-Auswahl bei der FIFA Jugend-WM mit heutigen Größen wie Peter Crouch oder Ashley Cole. Überdies wurde er dreimal in die englische U-21-Nationalmannschaft einberufen.
