Statoil ASA ist eine norwegische Erdöl-Gesellschaft, die 1972 gegründet wurde und seit 1. Oktober 2007 Teil von StatoilHydro ist. Die Marke Statoil ist im Endkunden-Geschäft tätig und betreibt Tankstellen in Nordeuropa und einigen osteuropäischen Ländern. Statoil ist das größte Erdöl-Unternehmen in den nordischen Ländern, in Norwegen das größte Unternehmen und beschäftigt über 25.000 Menschen. Der Hauptsitz befindet sich in Norwegen in der Stadt Stavanger.

Statoil gehört zu den größten Netto-Verkäufern von Rohöl in der Welt und ist ein bedeutender Lieferant von Erdgas auf dem europäischen Kontinent. Statoil betreibt rund 2000 Tankstellen in neun Ländern. Das Unternehmen führt seit Mitte 2004 Helge Lund, ehemals CEO von Aker Kværner. Seit Anfang 2010 ist Statoil wieder selbständig, wie man Ende 2009 bekanntgegeben hat.
