Das Solow Building befindet sich in Midtown, Manhattan, in direkter Nähe zum berühmten Plaza Hotel und zum Central Park.

Das 210 Meter hohe Gebäude wurde 1974 eröffnet. Es fällt besonders durch seinen weißen Beton und die schwarzgetönte Fensterfront auf. Auch seine Form ist außergewöhnlich. Jeweils die Nord- und die Südseite des 50-stöckigen Gebäudes ist nach innen gewölbt. Dadurch nimmt die Etagenfläche mit steigender Höhe immer weiter ab. Sowohl an der Ost-, als auch an der Westseite des Hochhauses sind jeweils drei Kreuzverstrebungen zu erkennen, die dem Bauwerk zusätzliche Stabilität verleihen sollen.

Durch das dichte Häusermeer Manhattans fällt das Gebäude nicht sonderlich auf. Den besten Blick auf das Solow Building hat man von der Südspitze des Central Parks aus.
