Slendro

Slendro (in einigen Quellen auch Salendro genannt, Slédro) ist eine fast gleichstufige Tonleiter (bzw. Stimmung), die in javanesischer Musik Anwendung findet. Im Gegensatz zum europäischen Tonsystem, dessen Oktave in 12 exakt gleich große Tonstufen eingeteilt ist, variieren die Tonabstände beim Sléndro minimal (Equi-Pentatonik). Der Tonabstand bei einem Halbton im europäischen Tonsystem hat die Größe 100 Cent. In diesem Maßsystem verhalten sich die Abstände beim Sléndro folgendermaßen: 223 253 236 225 263.


Das andere der beiden in der Gamelan-Musik gebräuchlichen Tonsysteme heißt Pelog.
