Samantha Fox (Samantha Karen Patricia „Sam“ Fox; * 15. April 1966 in London) ist eine britische Popsängerin und Fotomodell.

Leben

Erste Bekanntheit erlangte sie, als sie sich im Alter von 16 Jahren den Lesern der britischen Tageszeitung The Sun als das Mädchen von Seite 3 oben ohne präsentierte. Sie wurde in den darauf folgenden Jahren eines der bekanntesten Pin-Up-Girls Großbritanniens, vor allem deshalb, weil sie über eine ausgesprochen große und natürliche Oberweite verfügte. Im Jahre 1983 ließ sie sich ihre Brüste für 500.000 Dollar versichern. 1986 erschien auf mehreren Plattformen das Computerspiel Samantha Fox Strip Poker, das digitalisierte Monochrom-Fotos von Samantha Fox enthielt.

Sie strebte später eine Karriere als Sängerin an. Zwei Jahre zuvor hatte sie mit Schulfreunden die Band S.F.X. gegründet. Das erste Album Touch Me wurde 1986 ein Hit. Weitere größere Hits folgten von 1986 bis 1989. Insgesamt hatte sie jeweils drei Top-10-Hits in Großbritannien und in den USA. Ihre größten Hits neben Touch Me (I Want Your Body) waren Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now, Naughty Girls (Need Love Too), Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me) und I Wanna Have Some Fun. Seitdem nimmt sie in unregelmäßigen Abständen Alben auf.

Privat

Nachdem jahrelang Gerüchte kursierten, Samantha Fox sei lesbisch oder bisexuell, outete sie sich 2003 und bekannte sich von da an öffentlich zur Beziehung mit ihrer Managerin Myra Stratton, die sie vier Jahre zuvor kennengelernt hatte.[1][2][3]
