Round Robin ist

  • in der Informatik ein(e) Strategie/Verfahren, um z. B. Ressourcen bestimmten Prozessen zuzuordnen. Siehe Round Robin (Informatik).
  • in der Informatik ein einfaches Verfahren zur Lastverteilung per DNS
  • die Zusammenarbeit mehrerer Menschen an einem gemeinsamen Endprodukt, siehe Round Robin (Hobby)
  • eine Turnierform, siehe Rundenturnier
  • in der Qualitätssicherung die englische Bezeichnung für einen Ringversuch
  • ein Zeichen bestehend aus zwei konzentrischen Kreisen, in deren Zwischenraum Unterschriften stehen. Sinn und Zweck ist es, dass niemand als erste Unterschrift und damit als Anführer erkennbar ist, z. B. bei Meutereien, da diese sonst getötet worden wären. Diese Technik des Verschleierns wurde erstmals im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert von französischen Bauern angewandt (daher auch der ursprünglich französische Name, ruban rond, „rundes Band“) und später von Seeleuten der englischen Royal Navy übernommen.
