Richard Kirwan (* 1. August 1733 in Cloughballymore; † 22. Juni 1812 in Dublin) war ein irischer Chemiker. Er war ein Anhänger der Phlogistontheorie.

1780 wurde er Fellow of the Royal Society. 1782 wurde er mit der Copley Medal ausgezeichnet.

Kirwan war von 1799 bis 1812 Präsident der Royal Irish Academy.

Einige seiner Werke wurden von Lorenz von Crell ins Deutsche übersetzt.
