Reflation

Unter Reflation versteht man eine aggressiv auf Vermeidung von Deflation ausgerichtete Wirtschaftspolitik. Dabei ordnet der Staat alle wirtschaftspolitischen Zwänge (wie ausgeglichener Staatshaushalt, Inflationsgefahr etc.) der Vermeidung von allgemeinen, anhaltenden Preisrückgängen unter.

Reflation kann entweder erfolgen durch das Zusammenspiel einer expansiven Geldpolitik und einer expansiven Fiskalpolitik (also niedrigere Zinsen verbunden mit höheren Staatsausgaben) oder allein durch expansive Geldpolitik. Grund für eine kompromisslose Reflationspolitik ist zumeist die Angst vor einer Deflationsspirale.
