Fischfang und Landwirtschaft prägt seit altersher die Region. Berühmt ist die Parroquia für den typischen Käse, den Queso de Pría.

Angenehm milde Sommer mit ebenfalls milden, selten strengen Wintern. In den Hochlagen können die Winter durchaus streng werden.
