Das Prelude to the Dream (Vorspiel zum Traum) ist ein mit „Late-Models“ ausgetragenes Spezialevent, welches jährlich auf dem Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio stattfindet. Der Gastgeber des Rennens ist Sprint-Cup-Fahrer Tony Stewart, dem der Eldora Speedway gehört. Die Veranstaltung gehört nicht der NASCAR an, dennoch besteht das Fahrerfeld aus Sprint-Cup-Fahrern.

Geschichte des Events

Im Jahre 2005 fand das erste Prelude to the Dream statt. Sprint Cup Fahrer Kenny Wallace gewann dieses Rennen und 50.000 US-Dollar gingen an Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang Camp, eine Einrichtung für unheilbar kranke Kinder.

Im Jahre 2006 konnte der Gastgeber Tony Stewart den Sieg feiern, nachdem kurz vor dem Ende des Rennens noch Dave Blaney überholte. Er feierte in typischer Manier und kletterte den Begrenzungszaun seiner eigenen Rennstrecke hinauf. Insgesamt 40.000 Zuschauer haben die beiden ersten Prelude to the Dream Events gesehen. Im Jahre 2007 konnte Carl Edwards das Hauptrennen gewinnen.
