Peter Quinn

Peter Quinn (* 17. Februar 1928 in Subiaco, Westaustralien; † 23. August 2008) war römisch-katholischer Bischof von Bunbury, Australien.

Leben

Peter Quinn empfing die Priesterweihe am 21. Dezember 1950 für das Erzbistum Perth durch Pietro Fumasoni Kardinal Biondi, Präfekt der Kongregation für die Evangelisierung der Völker.

Papst Paul VI. ernannte ihn 1969 zum Titularbischof von Falerone und bestellte ihn zum Weihbischof im Erzbistum Perth. Die Bischofsweihe spendete ihm am 27. August 1969 der Erzbischof von Perth, Lancelot John Goody; Mitkonsekratoren waren Francis Xavier Thomas, Bischof von Geraldton, und Myles McKeon, Bischof von Bunbury.

1982 erfolgte die Ernennung zum dritten Bischof des Bistums Bunbury. Seinem Rücktrittsgesuch wurde durch Papst Johannes Paul II. stattgegeben, gleichwohl war er auf Bitten des Papstes als Apostolischer Administrator bis zum Amtsantritt seines Nachfolgers Gerald Joseph Holohan bis zum 5. September 2001 im Amt.[1]
