Ashis Nandy (* 1937) ist ein indischer Psychologe und Soziologe. Er gilt als Mitbegründer der weltweiten Post-Colonial Studies und ist Direktor des Centre for the Study of Developing Societies in Delhi.

Nandy schrieb eine Reihe von Berichten zur Lage der Menschenrechte und beteiligte sich aktiv an sozialen Bewegungen gegen Krieg, für alternative Formen der Wissenschaft und Technologie, und für das Überleben von Kulturen.

Er ist Mitglied der Human Rights Initiative des Commonwealth, des International Network for Cultural Alternatives to Development und der People’s Union for Civil Liberties, der ältesten und größten Menschenrechtsorganisation Indiens.
