OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health- and Safety Assessment Series) ist keine Norm, kann aber als Zertifizierungsgrundlage für Managementsysteme zum Arbeitsschutz (AMS) verwendet werden.

Die Struktur von OHSAS orientiert sich an den Normen ISO 9001 und ISO 14001. Somit eignet es sich zur Anwendung als Teil eines integrierten Managementsystems.

OHSAS beruht auf dem englischen Standard (BS 8800:1996). Zurzeit wird diskutiert, ob es als international gültige Norm verabschiedet werden soll.

Zur leichteren Umsetzung von OHSAS 18001 im Unternehmen dient OHSAS 18002 („Leitlinien zur Umsetzung von OHSAS 18001“).
