OK Computer erschien am 13. Juni 1997 auf Parlophone, einem Sub-Label der EMI, und wird dem Genre Britpop/Alternative zugerechnet. Es gilt als wichtiger Meilenstein der Rock- und Popmusik der 90er Jahre. Das Album wurde 1998 mit dem Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album ausgezeichnet.
Am 24. März 2009 kam eine Collector's Edition auf den Markt, die neben einer zweiten CD mit B-Seiten, Live-Aufnahmen und Demo-Versionen auch eine DVD mit Videos und Live-Mitschnitten enthält. [1]

Einordnung des Albums
OK Computer ist Radioheads drittes Album und markiert einen Wechsel in der Bandgeschichte. Nach zwei eher klassischen Britpop-Alben begann die Band mit elektronischen Effekten wie Filtern und Rauschen zu arbeiten. Die beiden nachfolgenden Projekte Kid A und Amnesiac sollten diesen Ansatz dann konsequent weiterentwickeln.
