Geografie
North Slope Borough liegt größtenteils in der Region North Slope. Die westliche Küste des Boroughs liegt an der Tschuktschensee. Im Osten jenseits von Point Barrow grenzt das Gebiet an die Beaufort Sea sowie an das kanadische Territorium Yukon. Der Borough hat eine Fläche von 245.435 Quadratkilometern, wovon 230.035 Quadratkilometer auf Land- und 15.400 Quadratkilometer auf Wasserflächen entfallen. Der Borough ist damit der flächenmäßig größte Borough/County der Vereinigten Staaten mit einer Landfläche, die größer ist als die des US-Bundesstaates Utah.

Zum Zeitpunkt der Volkszählung im Jahre 2000 (U.S. Census 2000) hatte der Borough 7.385 Einwohner auf einer Landfläche von 230.035 Quadratkilometern. Das Durchschnittsalter betrug 27,0 Jahre (nationaler Durchschnitt der USA: 35,3 Jahre). Das Pro-Kopf-Einkommen (engl. per capita income) lag bei US-Dollar 20.540 (nationaler Durchschnitt der USA: US-Dollar 21.587). 9,1 Prozent der Einwohner lagen mit ihrem Einkommen unter der Armutsgrenze (nationaler Durchschnitt der USA: 12,4 Prozent).[1]
