Der North Platte River (auch North Platte) ist neben dem South Platte River einer der Quellflüsse des Platte River in den USA.

Der 1.094 km lange Fluss entspringt nahe der Stadt Walden, Colorado, in den Rocky Mountains. In seinem weiteren Verlauf durchfließt er die US-Bundesstaaten Wyoming und Nebraska. In Wyoming wird er im Glendo State Park durch einen Staudamm zu einem großen Stausee, dem Glendo Reservoir aufgestaut und sein Wasser zur Stromerzeugung genutzt. In den Great Plains formte er seit Jahrmillionen die Landschaft und hinterließ Naturdenkmäler wie das Scotts Bluff National Monument. In North Platte vereinigen sich dann North- und South Platte River zum Platte River.

Nahe seiner Quelle ist der Fluss bekannt für seine Möglichkeiten zum Rafting und Fliegenfischen.
