Norm (von lateinisch norma ursprünglich ‚Winkelmaß‘, dann aber auch ‚Richtschnur‘, ‚Maßstab‘, ‚Regel‘, ‚Vorschrift‘) steht für:

  • einen durch bestimmte Prozesse festgelegten, allgemein anerkannten Standard
  • eine anerkannte Regel der Technik, siehe Normung
  • eine Werteordnung innerhalb einer Gesellschaft, Soziale Norm
  • ein anerkanntes Regelwerk im Bereich der Sprache: Norm (Sprache)
  • ethische Werte und Maßstäbe, siehe Normethik
  • eine rechtliche Vorschrift, Rechtsnorm
  • in einer Planwirtschaft zu leistende Arbeit, die Arbeitsnorm
  • jenen Messbereich in der Labormedizin, in den rund 95 % aller gesunden Untersuchten zu liegen kommen, siehe Referenzwert (Medizin)
  • die für die Zulassung zu einem sportlichen Wettkampf nachzuweisende Leistung, siehe Qualifikation (Sport)

  • Matrixnorm
  • Vektornorm: eine Verallgemeinerung der Begriffe Absolutbetrag einer Zahl und Länge eines Vektors für Elemente von Vektorräumen und Modulen, siehe normierter Raum und Betrag (Vektor)
  • Körpernorm: in der Algebra eine kanonische multiplikative Abbildung aus einem Erweiterungskörper in den zugehörigen Grundkörper, siehe Norm (Körpererweiterung)
  • Norm eines Ideals: in der Zahlentheorie die Kardinalität des Quotienten Ganzheitsring modulo Ideal, siehe Ideal (Ringtheorie)
