Near Field Infrared Experiment (NFIRE) ist ein Militärsatellit, den die USA am 24. April 2007 mit einer Minotaur-1 von der Wallops Flight Facility auf eine Umlaufbahn in 495 km Höhe mit 49° Inklination gestartet haben.
Der von General Dynamics gebaute Satellit hat eine Startmasse von 494 kg, liefert eine elektrische Leistung von ca. 500 W und ist für eine Lebensdauer von zwei Jahren ausgelegt. Seine Nutzlast besteht aus zwei Sensoren für Infrarot und sichtbares Licht zur Erkennung und Bahnverfolgung von Raketenstarts auf der Erde. Er trägt zusätzlich ein experimentelles Laser Communication Terminal für die Datenkommunikation. Von dem Plan, ihn mit einem Geschoss („Kill Vehicle“) zu bestücken, wurde Abstand genommen.
